November Spotlight: Taryn Wright
Mom of 5, wife of super hot Product Manager and music teacher for 11 years.
What inspired you to become a music teacher?
I became a music teacher by my neighbor asking if I would teach her child. Their piano teacher in the neighborhood was moving and they needed a new one that was close. I started teaching her and one other kid in the neighborhood and I didn’t suck at it so I have kept going ever since.
Can you share a memorable success story or a proud moment from your experience as a music teacher?
I had a student who played well. She didn’t have any confidence in herself though. She would never even think about playing in front of anyone besides her mom. We made a goal to have her play in church. It was so exciting to see her fulfil that goal and be able to play in front of an audience.
If you could form a fictional band with your students, what would the band name be, and what genre of music would you play?
I would name us the def tones and we would play classical music. The reason being because no matter how much I stress dynamics and making the song sound exciting it doesn’t matter it never seems to click. HEHEHE
